Karynne Courts

National Not for Profit children’s choir, Gondwana Choirs, has appointed Karynne Courts as its new General Manager.

Gondwana Choirs says that Courts’ leadership and organisational culture skills were a “great fit” for the organisation.

Courts’ career began in the Finance and IT industry. In 1998 she founded her own consultancy focussing on Executive Coaching, Organisational Culture and Leadership offering professional development and workshops.

Gondwana Choirs said in a statement that Courts is inspired by organisations that embed learning and creativity at the heart of their work.

According to Gondwana Choirs, Courts found both of those values present in her first experience of Gondwana Choirs in the audience at a performance of the Gondwana National Indigenous Children’s Choir at the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence in Redfern in 2012.

Courts said she had seen Gondwana Choirs’ flagship choir, Sydney Children’s Choir perform and also attended Gondwana’s National Choral School. She said that she was “overwhelmed” by the enthusiasm and joy that is displayed by the artistic staff and choristers in all the choirs.

“I am so excited to be joining Gondwana as it grows in public profile and offers more children and young people high-quality, life-changing music education,” Courts said.

Courts will join Artistic Director & Founder Lyn Williams in leading the team from Gondwana Choir’s Head Office in the Walsh St Arts Precinct in Sydney.

“Karynne’s skills are a great fit for Gondwana Choirs,” Williams said.

“She will be an asset leading our team and enabling creativity and encouraging cross-collaboration among our staff.”
