Australian corporations involved in projects benefitting developing nations are eligible to enter a grant competition to win 500,000 Swiss Francs (AU $510,000) in the 2014 Nestle Prize in Creating Shared Value.
Nestle, the event sponsor of the Creation of Shared Value forum in Melbourne this month, is offering the prize money to a business or a social enterprise that works in the area of nutrition, water, or rural development.
“The prize is awarded every two years and helps innovative, commercially viable, and high impact initiatives achieve social scale and financial sustainability,” Nestle said in a statement.
“We believe in the potential of the creating shared value concept in generating economic value in a way that also generates value for society by addressing its needs and challenges.
“There are already many examples of organisations, both from the private and Not for Profit sectors, developing or implementing creating shared value initiatives.
“Through the Nestlé CSV Prize, we seek to reward the best examples of creating shared value initiatives worldwide and encourage others to adopt this approach.”
The Creating Shared Value Forum features US expert Mark Kramer – the author of the influential CSR and Shared Value publications – and will take place on Wednesday 14th November.
Nominations for the Nestle competition are open until 31 March 2013 and can be done here.
