ASF Announces NFP Scholarships

Australian Scholarships Foundation has announced a new scholarship offering for directors and staff of Not for Profit organisations.
1. Graduate Certificate in Management of Not-for-Profit Organisations at ACU.
The Graduate Certificate in Management of Not for Profit Organisations has been designed by the Australian Catholic University (ACU) to address the unique challenges facing the third sector.
This program aims to create dynamic, capable leaders with the resilience to embrace the evolving NFP landscape and take their organisations to the next level. The Graduate Certificate is comprised of four units (Governance, Marketing & Fundraising, Money Management and HR Management) and delivered in Sydney over eight weekend intensives over 10 months.
Participants are entitled to receive accreditation towards further postgraduate study including Master of Commerce and MBA Executive. This is a 100 per cent scholarship for the first two units of the Graduate Certificate in Management of Not for Profit Organisations.
There are up to five scholarships available.

2. Project Management for NFPs – 1-Day Workshop – Melbourne – 31 July.
Project Management for NFPs – 1-Day Workshop – Sydney – 14 September.
Developed with Corrs Chambers Westgarth, this workshop is designed to provide a practical framework and tools to help you manage projects in a NFP organisation. This has been tailored specifically for the Not for Profit sector. Workshop includes a hosted lunch and provides project management software templates to help you manage all your projects.
Applications close 12 July for Melbourne or 15 August for Sydney or when all have been allocated.
3. Fulbright Professional Scholarship in Non-Profit Leadership, sponsored by the Origin Foundation.
This is the first-ever Fulbright Scholarship specifically for the NFP sector in Australia. It provides an opportunity for an emerging leader in the NFP sector (and possibly his or her family) to undertake a program of research and/or professional development in the U.S. for a period of three to four months in 2013.
“The recognition provided by a Fulbright Scholarship is extremely important in lifting the profile of the NFP sector,” Chief Executive of the Australian Scholarships Foundation (ASF) Amy Lyden said.
“It emphasises the need to invest in the sector’s leadership capability.
“This is a terrific opportunity to gain experiential learning by visiting organisations as well as attending a course in the U.S. This scholarship is valued at $40,000.
The scholarship is a joint initiative of the Australian-American Fulbright Commission , the Australian Scholarships Foundation and Origin Foundation. Applications close 20 August 2012.
