Volunteering WA will be assuming responsibility for the administration and support of GoVolunteer – a volunteer recruitment websites set up by peak body Volunteering Australia.

The move comes as a result of the recent decision to relocate the administrative headquarters of Volunteering Australia from Melbourne to Canberra as part of the major restructuring of the national peak body by its board.

Volunteering Australia says the decision to appoint Volunteering WA with the responsibility for GoVolunteer centralises support for the website and VIKTOR Online (the volunteer management system underpinning the new site) in one place and will ensure a seamless delivery of service for users of both Go Volunteer and VIKTOR Online.

"This major rebuild of GoVolunteer undertaken by SEEK is a most exciting project and will serve the needs of both volunteers and volunteer utilising organisations well into the future,” CEO of Volunteering Australia Cary Pedicini said.

"GoVolunteer has been an amazingly successful platform for volunteering and now it is well positioned to meet the changing needs of the voluntary sector.

“Volunteering WA has a very strong history with VIKTOR Online and are well placed to provide ongoing support whilst Volunteering Australia undertakes a significant change of location.

"Volunteering Australia thanks SEEK and the Boston Consulting Group for their ongoing commitment to volunteering. Their work in creating and maintaining the GoVolunteer website over the last ten years, as well as their work in this major upgrade, deserves significant recognition."

Volunteering Australia has prepared a FAQ sheet for more information about the launch of the new GoVolunteer site.
