A new fictional web series set in 2031 in a world where volunteering has been banned has had its trailer released on Youtube.
The Volunteering Queensland initiative is designed to bring attention to the volunteering sector to a new audience through the show, “Volunteering Banned”.
The web series will run over the next few months and tell the story of vlogger (video blogger) Riley and her friends, all members of the Volunteer Resistance, as they orchestrate support to bring volunteering back and to create a world where everyone can make a difference.
Anyone in this world who is caught doing a good deed has their kindness wiped by “The Agency,” run by the Big Bad Baron.
Marketing and Communications Officer at Volunteering Queensland, Vanessa Codling, said that the series will analyse themes and issues that the volunteering sector is facing.
“It’s all animated and we are hoping through using this platform, that is a bit different and a bit fun, we will start new conversations around volunteering and volunteer management.
