Accounting and finance peak body, CPA Australia and Pro Bono Australia have teamed up in a new online initiative matching finance professionals with Not for Profit organisations whether they work in a paid, voluntary or pro bono capacity.

CPA Australia’s Chief Operating Officer Member Services, Jeff Hughes, said: “CPA Australia members can visit www.cpaaustralia.com.au/volunteering to engage with the Not for Profit sector and volunteer or find suitable board appointments.”

Professional indemnity insurance is complimentary for CPA Australia members performing voluntary or pro bono accounting services anywhere in the world.

“I encourage CPAs to visit the site regularly to source roles and board positions that use their skills to best effect and also for Not for Profits to post opportunities that will invite valuable additional professional skills to benefit their organisations.”

Participants will also have access to the most timely and topical news and views on issues impacting volunteering and learn of the experiences of other members.

“With the wave of regulatory reform expected to have significant implications for the Not for Profit sector, the support and guidance given by trusted qualified professionals is more important than ever,” said Jeff Hughes.

Pro Bono Australia Founder, Karen Mahlab says the initiative via Pro Bono Australia’s highly successful VolunteerMatch website aims to bring many thousands of finance professionals into contact with Not for Profits across Australia.

"This partnership with CPA Australia means we will be able to reach out to boost the financial and board skills of the tens of thousands of Not for Profits organisations around Australia at a time of massive change in the sector.

"Through VolunteerMatch we can provide a simple, fast and effective way for financial professionals to join up with Not for Profit organisations – it's a win win for everyone."

Not for Profits can register their volunteer positions for CPA members at: probonoaustralia.com.au/volunteer/add
