Technology Not for Profit, DonorTec has produced a You Tube video to applaud the work of its members, titled “One image is all it takes”, highlighting the work done by the Australian Not for Profit sector.
The video is the result of a competition for DonorTec members whose organisations benefit from donated technology through the DonorTec program.
Sioux Christiansen, Manager, Marketing and Corporate Relations with Connecting Up Australia says NFPs were asked to show the great things their organisations do in the community to help tell the rest of the world and so their work could have a greater impact on more lives.
Christiansen says the video is a great way to let other Not for Profit organisations know of the DonorTec program and the benefits to their work that updated technology can bring.
The winning submission was presented by WISHIN, of Brunswick, Victoria; which assists women to secure long term housing and supports them in the process of mental health recovery.
DonorTec is a partnership between US-based Not for Profit, TechSoup and Connecting Up Australia to provide donated and discounted technology products from companies such as Microsoft and Symantec to Australian Not for Profit organisations.
Technology donations to charities and Not for Profit organisations in Australia through the DonorTec program have recently passed the $100m milestone.
According to Connecting Up Australia, during the past three years more than 11,000 charities and Not for Profit organisations across Australia and New Zealand have benefited from over $103m worth of technology obtained via the DonorTec service.
CUA CEO Doug Jacquier believes that technology is a powerful enabler for social change. Jacquier says CUA’s partnership with TechSoup Global to deliver the DonorTec program is a powerful vehicle for charities and nonprofits to have the same computing power and internet access as similar sized business organisations. It also allows these helping organisations to invest the savings made into direct service delivery.
