Policy "Ideas" Handbook for Election Victor

Australian think-tank, the Centre for Policy Development has published an e-book of policy ideas for the government that wins the August 21 Federal Election.

The e-book called More Than Luck- Ideas Australians Need to Know, is described as collection of ideas for citizens who want real change.

Edited by Mark Davis (author of Land of Plenty) and Centre for Policy Development (CPD) Executive Director Miriam Lyons, the e-book has contributions from CPD fellows and other writers and researchers, capturing their ideas and the evidence that backs them.

Davis and Lyons say it’s time for Australia to show that it is not just a lucky country but a country that knows how to make its luck last.

They say that fear dominates elections when there isn’t a positive vision compelling enough to crowd it out, and neither major party has been telling a positive story this election year.

The CPD says it wants to help widen the circle of inclusion in public debate on issues that matter, so it has published the entire book online under a creative commons license.

The book is free to download, and a hard copy version will be available soon.

Download More than Luck: Ideas Australia needs now (PDF) or find out more at the CPD website.
