Free Technology Set to Transform Sourcing in the NFP Sector
15 January 2010 at 10:58 am

An innovative technology is now being offered to Not for Profit organisations aimed at saving time and money and helping them source the best services and expertise.

Pro Bono Australia has partnered with Magnetized Markets to provide the technology, under an application called ifindconsultants, to the Not for Profit sector for free.

Magnetized Markets Managing Director James Leathem says already thousands of Australian businesses have taken up the technology as well as governments and local councils.

Leathem says currently organisations waste a lot of time searching web pages, scrolling through directories or calling everyone they know just to find out which service providers have the ideas, experience and capability to provide what they need.

At the same time, he says service providers spend a lot of time and money just to find out which buyers are looking for the services they offer.

Leathem says the ifindconsultants tools work like a magnet – attracting the targeted results that organisations need.

These tools are primarily used by organisations to get quotes and proposals when a formal tender is not required but a competitive sourcing approach is desired.

Leathem says typically this means that buyers and sellers use these tools for products between $2000 and $500,000.

He says the tools are free for the Not for Profits (buyers) and close to free for service providers.

The application is accessed through the Pro Bono Australia website’s Source Section. Not for Profits can then find, evaluate, shortlist and contact vendors relevant to their needs; create their own preferred supplier panels and limit requests so only they can respond; and keep records, ratings and evaluation notes.

Pro Bono Australia founder and Managing Director, Karen Mahlab says she’s really impressed by how simple the Marketplace product is to use and she’s excited by the opportunity it provides for our Not for Profit organisations and the source suppliers.

Mahlab says Pro Bono Australia is always looking for new tools and technology to assist NFPs and this tool is a great fit.

She says the ifindconsultants application sits perfectly next to our newly updated guide of ‘who offers what’, Source.
