Writing A Fundraising Proposal with the Experts
23 October 2000 at 12:10 pm
Do you recognise this scenario? A fabulous project idea, an enthusiastic team behind it, all the application forms and the grant-makers details and then the long-winded funding proposal lets you down!
It’s a common dilemma for many Not for Profits.
Genevieve Timmons is a specialist trainer in philanthropic fund raising with ten years experience who says the biggest trap that most organisations fall into is spending too much time and paper on a proposal that then fails to deliver a clear objective.
Timmons says all too often the Not for Profits forget who they are and what they are and how good their projects or plans are.
With this in mind, Timmons is offering two training seminars in Melbourne in November.
Called Training Up On Attracting Funds, the intensive one-day training sessions will identify the best options for funding, design a basic document with the essential features including the project outline, time-line, task schedule and budget and add some creative flair.
The course will show how to manage your time effectively, stay ahead of the paper blizzard and make the proposal work for your organisation.
Timmons says it’s a great opportunity to work on you own proposal during the course, see examples of completed proposals and get answers directly from grantmakers.
Guests at the Melbourne sessions include representatives from Perpetual Trustees, the Potter Foundation, the Myer Foundation, the Reichstein Foundation and Philanthropy Australia.
The Melbourne sessions are on November the 9th and 14th at a cost of $390 (includes GST) with a Robin Hood rate for low budget groups at $330. Food and notes provided.
