Credit Card Offers Help to NFPs

An American company with some high profile backing is offering a free credit card that includes no sign up fees, no annual fees, a 25-day grace period for no interest payments, free flight points and a merchandise redemption program.
It’s called VivaRebates.com and the offer appears to be sweeping the world with some added extras for Not for Profits although there is little information about it’s success or otherwise just yet in Australia.
The web site at www.vivarebates.com says VivaRebate’s goal is to amass the largest number of credit card holders in the world by offering free major credit cards with an unprecedented combination of benefits and by passing out millions of referral dollars to their card holders or to the charity of their choice.
As well the Vivarebates.com card has a separate option for Not for Profits called the ‘Make a Difference Program”.
Not for Profits can register and establish a Referral ID and enter the program and build an organisation just like a cardholder, except they are exempted from having to get a Credit Card. The commissions generated from their referral development will flow into a ‘Beneficiary Fund” that is distributed to them each month.
VivaRebates.com provides a printable letter for organisations to send out to its donor base explaining how the card will work.
The card was only launched in the US on December 27th and already it claims to have millions of people signed up. The cards have only just begun being distributed in the States and will soon be delivered to Canada and then Australia and England and Europe.
One of the Advisory Board Directors who has put his reputation on the line with VivaRebate.com is Doug Wead, the man behind the successful world wide Amway Group. Wead served as a Special Assistant to the President in the Senior Bush White House and played an integral role in George W Bush’s successful 2000 campaign. He co-founded an organisation called Mercy Corps International which has distributed over $73 million worth of medicine and famine relief.
