The Law and Justice Foundation of NSW is calling for nominations for this year’s Justice Awards which recognise the contributions individuals have made to improving access to justice in NSW.

The Law and Justice Foundation of NSW is calling for nominations for this year’s Justice Awards which recognise the contributions individuals have made to improving access to justice in NSW.

In particular the Awards look to areas that have particularly assisted socially and disadvantaged people.

The following Awards will be presented:

The Justice Medal will be presented to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in improving access to justice in NSW. Past recipients of the Justice Medal are Elaine Evans, founder of the Women’s Legal Resources Centre, and Phillip French, Executive Officer of People with Disabilities.

To mark the International Year of Volunteering, the Law and Justice Volunteer of the Year Award will be presented to an individual who, in a voluntary capacity, has demonstrated outstanding commitment to access to justice.

The Justice Research Fellowship will be presented to an individual to undertake a period of research with the Law and Justice Foundation.

The Justice Essay Prizes will be awarded to students in both tertiary and secondary categories.

The LIAC Centres of Excellence Awards will recognise the achievements of Legal Information Access Centres in NSW public libraries.
