FIA Internet Fundraising Workshop

The constantly changing face of technology and the internet has far-reaching implications for everyone- including Not for Profit organisations and donors. Pro Bono Australia has recently reported that online donations are now playing a large and unprecedented role in donors’ support for some charities. (See Volume 4 Edition 7).
Many people in the Not for Profit sector are finding themselves with more questions than answers about internet fundraising.
What is the best way to utilise the internet? What are the advantages and disadvantages of this medium? Can we really raise any money online?
So the Fundraising Institute – Australia has devised a workshop called ‘Internet Fundraising’- with the aim of answering these questions… and many more!
A number of organisations now conducting online fundraising have been brought together to share their experience of online fundraising with workshop participants. In addition, key speakers Professor Margaret Jackson of RMIT and Ricci Swart of dotPhilanthropy will impart their knowledge.
Topics to be covered include Online Privacy, Online Communication and Online Donations.
It is the FIA’s hope that after this workshop, participants will have enough confidence to build a foundation for a viable and effective online donation program for their organisation.
The workshop is scheduled to take place in Melbourne on Thursday 11th July 2002. The cost is $60 for FIA members and $90 for non-members (GST incl.)
