With more than 4 million baby boomers reaching retirement age over the next 20 years, the shape of Australian society will be changed forever. What does this mean for the Not for Profit sector?

Ways to embrace the future and face the challenges of our ageing population are the basis of a new one-day seminar being run in Melbourne by the Fundraising Institute – Australia.
The seminar, titled ‘Focus on the Future’, encourages organisations to review their fundraising strategies now to tackle this imminent social change head-on.
Key topics include motivating the entreprenuerial donors of the future, identifying the key factors that influence giving by discerning donors, and setting your organisation’s course for smooth sailing in turbulent waters ahead!
The FI-A will welcome back two of Canada’s leading fundraisers, Guy Mallabone and Tony Myers, to share their findings about what motivates donors, especially entrepreneurs, to give; in addition to the critical factors in successful major gift solicitation.
Sue Barwick and Michael Quillerat of Geospend will present a session on the ‘science and art’ of acquiring new donors. Future trends in Corporate Fundraising will be discussed by Meredith Campbell CFRE.
The seminar will be held at the Novotel St Kilda, in Melbourne, on Wednesday, September 18th 2002. The cost is $220 for FI-A members, and $297 for non-members.
Seminar attendees are also invited to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the FI-A Victorian Chapter, including entertainment from comedian Rod Quantock, sunset drinks and nibbles.
