Evolution, devolution or revolution? Experts will explore the role that volunteering will play in Australian society in the 21st century at next month’s 10th National Conference on Volunteering. (June 2-4)
The three-day event has an impressive line up of local and international keynote speakers, kicking off with David Gonski from the Australia Council for the Arts and Raelene Boyle, former Olympian and National Community Ambassador.
The sessions explore a wide range of topics including new areas of employee volunteering, volunteer motivations, training, outcomes and government support.
International guest, Daddy Bowen is a well-known leader of the Canadian Volunteer Sector. She is currently working on a major project focused on the concept of ‘citizen and community participation’, a natural evolution of her work on volunteerism and exploring the broader approach to understanding ways citizens contribute to society and build social capital.
Guest speak George Thomson is Chief Executive of Volunteer Development Scotland a national centre for excellence which provides research, policy and practice in volunteer development from the grass roots to the Government level.
The Conference is on the Hilton on the Park in Melbourne June 3-5. For a registration brochure just send us an email with 10th National Conference on Volunteering in the subject line to probono@probonoaustralia.com.au.
