Taking Care of the Law

A new interactive CD-ROM called Taking Care has been produced by the Victoria Law Foundation for staff and supervisors in human services, including aged, disability, youth, health, family, and cultural services nationally.
It explains in plain language the law in relation to Duty of Care and Privacy & Confidentiality.
The authors of Taking Care are Margaret White and Susan Bunting.
The information is backed up by a wide range of activities and case studies that allow users to test their understanding in real-life situations.
Taking Care can be used as a:
– Stand alone orientation/ training package for students or staff
– Reference resource to answer your legal questions
– Combined resource with face-to-face training
Lawyer and ethicist, Susan Bunting says the focus is on quality and safety in health care.
Bunting is a member of the Health Services Review Council of Victoria, a consultant with the Australian Council on Health Care Standards and in 2002 launched the partnership program with the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in NSW.
