Minds At Work for FI-A

Jason Clarke cheekily boasts he achieved the lowest HSC score in the history of his Melbourne secondary school – yet today he’s the founder of Minds At Work and Australian fundraisers are tapping into his creativity.

Minds At Work believes everyone has the potential to think more creatively and to overcome the obstacles and blocks that get in the way of their good ideas.

And while fundraising isn’t his expertise Jason is committed to showing everyday Australians how they can bring their innovative ideas and solutions into their everyday life experience.

Since his HSC days Jason has staged operas from Covent Garden and La Scala, been the Creative Director for Australia’s largest multimedia company and designed a course in innovation and creativity that he currently teaches as part of the Executive MBA degree.

He’s created major exhibitions for museums across the country, designed multi-million dollar science education centres, nature parks and a major city aquarium.

Today he is one of the most sought after creative thinkers in the country, working with some of the largest corporations and institutions in Australia.

He’s the founder of Minds at Work, a commercial collective of professional thinkers’ hell bent on changing the world. And he says he’s only just getting started…

Minds At Work subscribes to four rules for creative survival:
1. Question anything that sounds like crap.
2. Never kill an idea before it’s had a chance to breathe.
3. Anything not strictly forbidden is worth a try.
4. Anything not strictly compulsory is worth leaving out.

Jason Clarke made a huge impression when he spoke at a recent FI-A luncheon and now his ideas of how to change your mind and change the world have been formulated into a workshop for the Not for Profit Sector.

Clarke will consider questions such as:
Are you having the impact in fundraising that you want?
Is it time to rethink your approach?
Could it be that some of your own ideas and assumptions are past their use-by date?

Clarke says that everything you see around you was once an idea. Of course, some of these ideas are now well past their prime and due for some serious rethinking.

The FI-A says many fundraisers may be surprised at what is revealed and how it might impact on your life, profession and success at fundraising!

CHANGE YOUR MIND, CHANGE THE WORLD is an interactive and dynamic workshop that frees your mind to reveal the creative power of your imagination.

The Minds At Work Workshop featuring Jason Clarke and Dr. Ian Metcalfe is on Thursday 16th September at the Kooyong Lawn Tennis Centre.

For more information and a booking form please contact Tina Price at the FI-A Chapter One office on (03) 9830 7211. Every reader who gets in touch with Tina and quotes the keyword ‘Pro Bono Australia’ will go into the draw for a free place at the workshop.
