The Board of Philanthropy Australia has chosen it’s new Chief Executive from the Corporate Sector.

It has appointed Gina Anderson as its new CEO, introducing her to the Philanthropic sector at the international philanthropy conference in Melbourne.

Philanthropy Australia President Lady Marigold Southey says Anderson has diverse experience in large and small organisations, both public and private. She has held general management, human resources, corporate community and communications roles at senior level.

Lady Southey says the Board is looking forward to her joining the organisation at this exciting time for philanthropy in Australia.

Most recently Anderson was General Manager Human Resources for St Hilliers, an integrated property development and construction company. Prior to this role, she had seven years at Westpac Banking Corporation in a variety of corporate public affairs, stakeholder management and executive management roles including Head of Community Involvement.

Gina is relocating from Sydney to Melbourne to take up her new role.

Gina succeeds Elizabeth Cham who will complete 10 years as the inaugural CEO of Philanthropy Australia.

Lady Southey paid tribute to Elizabeth’s passion and commitment to growing philanthropy in Australia.

Elizabeth Cham will be continuing in her role with the National Roundtable of Non-Profit Organisations as well as pursuing other opportunities within the philanthropic sector.

Gina Anderson officially commences her new role on 14 November 2005.
