Mentor Program for NFP Execs

Nonprofit Australia is launching a new service for top Not for Profit executives to receive mentoring from their high performing commercial counterparts.

The service will be piloted for Sydney-based NFP Chief Executives, Senior Executives and Board members from

February 2007.

The pilot provides places for a maximum of twelve mentees and there are currently a few places remaining.

The program will be rolled out nationally pending success of the pilot.

Nonprofit Australia says it is responding to extensive research in both Australia and overseas indicating a dearth of

dedicated executive development programs for leaders of Not for Profits and their Boards.

The mentoring program aims to lift the strategic and business capabilities of NFP leaders. It enables executives to

access flexible, low cost learning in a peer environment that stimulates them to hone and extend their management skills, think strategically and build performance.

Thanks to the support of AMP Foundation the pilot of the Mentoring Service will be offered at a total administration fee of $250.00 per mentee.

The program is a structured and managed service running for 12 months. It provides training for mentors and mentees, effectiveness evaluations, and support for the mentoring relationship.
