Lady Southey Resigns from Philanthropy Australia

Philanthropic stalwart Lady Marigold Southey AC is to step down as President of Philanthropy Australia after more than 6 years in the role.
Philanthropy Australia CEO Gina Anderson says Lady Southey has led Philanthropy Australia with immense passion and commitment, showing great philanthropic leadership both privately and in the public arena.
Anderson says that under her guiding hand Philanthropy Australia has grown from a small organisation to a much larger well-known national organisation with international recognition.
Bruce Bonyhady, has been nominated to succeed Lady Southey as President.
Since 2000, Bonyhady has been a Director and Chairman of ANZ Executors & Trustee Company Ltd. As a representative of ANZ Trustees he is a Trustee of the William Buckland Foundation, a member of the Felton Bequests’ Committee and the Sylvia and Charles Viertel Charitable Foundation.
He also holds a number of community sector positions including Chairman of the Yooralla Society of Victoria Ltd, Director of the Disability Housing Trust and Chairman of the Advisory Panel of the Centre for Developmental Disability Research at the Victorian Royal Children’s Hospital.
Lady Southey has agreed to be a co-Patron of Philanthropy Australia with Sir Gustav Nossal AC CBE.
Philanthropy Australia is planning several occasions in the New Year to thanking Lady Southey for her contribution.
