The Fundraising Institute – Australia’s 30th International Fundraising Conference in Melbourne in February 2007 is shaping up to be bigger than last year’s event in Sydney according to organisers.

The Fundraising Institute – Australia’s 30th International Fundraising Conference in Melbourne in February 2007 is shaping up to be bigger than last year’s event in Sydney according to organisers.

The International Fundraising Conference is at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne 24-27th February, 2007. Registrations are ahead of schedule but discounts are still available until February 9th.

The "Fresh Perspectives" Conference program include some high profile key note speakers including iconic Australian entertainer Olivia Newton-John who was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia for her work in the entertainment industry and to community for her support for breast cancer treatment, education and research. Newton-John will deliver the Mary Clarke Tribute Lecture.

Other key speakers include:

Alan Clayton – founder and Managing Director of the Cascaid Group, providing direct marketing and consultancy services to 150 UK charity clients. He has had a long and distinguished fundraising career with the British Diabetic Association and Feed the Children before setting up Cascaid in 1999. Cascaid has won ‘agency of the year’ for three consecutive years. Alan has spoken all over the world and occupies a unique position as the sector’s specialist motivational speaker.

Andrew Demetriou – the CEO of the Australian Football League. For three years prior to this he was the General Manager – Football Operations. Andrew was appointed Managing Director of the Ruthinium Group in 1989 a position he held until his appointment as CEO of the AFL Players Association in 1998. Andrew has been a driving force behind the establishment and development of the AFL Foundation (an independent organisation) which raises funds for charitable causes in line with the AFL’s broader Corporate Social Responsibilities. He has also been one of the instigators and supporters of the AFL Indigenous Foundation – working closely with indigenous communities.
