New Enviro-Charity "Global Cool"

In the UK, a new enviro-charity with the funky name of "Global Cool" has been launched with a star studded line up and a 10-year campaign to defeat global warming.
Singer/songwriter KT Tunstall and Hollywood actor Josh Hartnett joined the Global Cool team in revealing their ambitious decade long strategy.
Global Cool then descended on Downing Street the next day to show Prime Minister, Tony Blair, and Environment Secretary, David Miliband, just what they’re about.
Again, there were more big name attendees at Downing Street included writer and raconteur Stephen Fry, Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor, and Creative Director of the BBC Alan Yentob.
Social entrepreneur and Global Cool founder Dan Morrell insists the campaign is to encourage the individual to make a big difference.
Morrell says there is an enormous opportunity to defeat a massive problem: global warming, and in the course of doing so we will create a sustainable future for everyone.
He says the mission is to empower people to take positive and proactive personal steps and take charge of their own greenhouse gas emissions.
He says that for too long people have blamed governments, industry and the emerging economies for global warming. For many, personal responsibility has been abdicated by highlighting the faults in others while believing personal impacts are too small to make a difference.
He says Global Cool is on a 10-year mission to defeat the worst effects of global warming.
Over the next 12 months – and the subsequent nine years of Global Cool’s scheduled initiative – a large number of household names will be creating and contributing to its message of publicising the solutions to climate change.
Morrell says Global Cool is not a celebrity campaign that massages and promotes the egos of a small group of individuals.
He says the involvement of some of the biggest names in music and cinema is a collective response from the entertainment industry to face and confront the burgeoning threat of global warming.
He says Global Cool is very aware of how tiresome a bunch of rock stars and movie actors can appear when trying to tell the public how to run their lives.
Morrell admits that autocue delivered statements and spoon-fed statistics do not make a credible or successful campaign. Therefore all of the stars invited to engage in the Global Cool cause have either been on the carbon reduction journey for some time or have recently, and actively, begun this process.
But he says music, cinema and entertainment have long been global unifiers. Global Cool will utilise the powers of its high profile friends to help deliver, the crucial global warming information.
