Clean Up Australia Calls On Corporates for 2008

Business is being urged to register with Clean Up Australia for 2008 for a number of opportunities to get-involved in improving the quality of the environment and demonstrate a commitment to the community.
And there is more than one way to get involved.
Business Clean Up Day – Tuesday 26 February 2008.
Business Clean Up is designed for Australian businesses and is a unique opportunity for employees to work as a team and make a difference in the local community or the workplace.
It provides an opportunity for Australian businesses to help improve the quality of the environment and work towards reducing waste.
Participation shows how you can:
– Demonstrate your responsibility to the environment and local community
– Involve your staff in a rewarding team building exercise with a difference
– Build relationships with suppliers and clients by inviting them to join you
– Gain potential positive media coverage
As well, businesses can participate in one of three ways by either registering a site; registering your office or through the Adopt-A-Site program. Each of these options is outlined below:
REGISTER A SITE
It’s as easy as cleaning up or rehabilitating a local street, park, bushland or waterway.
Step 1 – Select a site in your local area
Step 2 – Register your site with Clean Up Australia.
– A registration fee of $110 (gst inclusive) applies to cover the cost of you Business Clean Up Kit.
Step 3 – Organise rubbish collection.
– Make arrangements through your waste contractor or liaise with the local council regarding possible collection
Step 4 – Promote your event to staff and make the logistical arrangements for the day
Step 5 – Hold your clean up event
Step 6 – Report back to Clean Up Australia on your activities
Your Business Clean Up Kit will include a copy of True Green @ Work, 35 Clean Up bags, 6 pairs of gloves; 1 sharps container, Site Guide, Promotional Posters and other material to assist you with coordinating your event.
REGISTER YOUR OFFICE
Register your office and committing to implement at least one environmentally sustainable initiative in the workplace is a significant contribution your business can make.
Your Business Office Kit will include an ‘Start Today Office Guide’, a copy of True Green @ Work, 24 stickers for light switches/power reminders, 5 mobile phone recycling satchels and Promotional Posters.

Adopting a site is an immediate way to support and contribute to the funding of this cooperative action and demonstrate an organisation’s commitment to the community.
Your contribution can really make a difference to support the thousands of community sites registered each year. There are three donor levels to choose from: Gold, Silver or Bronze
