Fundraising Forum Promises Unique Insight to Raise More Funds - Advertorial
25 May 2009 at 4:53 pm

Bringing together speakers from some of Australasia’s leading and most innovative charities, the 2009 Australasian Fundraising Forum promises to provide delegates with unique insight to raise more money from new and existing supporters.

The four themes of the forum are themes for the time: donor acquisition, donor retention, online marketing/fundraising and integration.

Fundraising and Philanthropy Australasia Magazine is presenting the event, and editor Jeremy Bradshaw says delegates will leave the forum with a plethora of ideas and learnings to help them raise more funds.

Bradshaw says whether it’s Cameron Watson discussing World Vision’s approach to integration, Katie Hart outlining Amnesty’s recent experimentation with numerous acquisition methods, or Chris Washington-Sare from Greenpeace explaining his organisation’s new retention tactics, the forum will provide fundraisers of all levels with in-depth knowledge to take back and use in their own fundraising programs.

He says there will be lots of case studies, and speakers will not only share their successes and how they were achieved, but also instances where something was tried but didn’t come off.

Sometimes, he says the learnings from unsuccessful attempts are just as valuable as those from campaigns that worked.

A highlight of the forum will be the injection of enthusiasm and expertise of Marcelo Iniarra, a specialist consultant in new media fundraising. Iniarra hails from Buenos Aires and is one of the pioneers of online fundraising and marketing. His clients are some of the world’s biggest brand-name charities, and he has also contributed chapters and articles to books and magazines on nonprofit internet strategy and web 2.0.

The inaugural Australasian Fundraising Forum was held last year and was sold out. With this year’s program every bit as good as last year’s, those thinking of attending should register quickly to avoid disappointment.

The 2009 Australasian Fundraising Forum will be held in Sydney on August 26 and 27. The early bird discounted fee is available until June 19, and fundraisers wanting to know more or to register can go to www.fpmagazine.com.au or phone 02 4920 9474.
