Poli-Pix round two: Kate Thwaites MP understands the value of history
6 May 2022 at 1:03 pm

The judges have revealed the winner of round two of the Poli-Pix competition for the best picture of a candidate visiting a local charity or community group during the election.

The Eltham and Districts Historical Society has taken the first prize in round two of the Poli-Pix competition for putting their local member in the picture about the value of local history, volunteering and community groups.

Eltham and Districts Historical Society is a volunteer group that encourages interest in the local history of the Eltham district predominantly within the Shire of Nillumbik in Melbourne’s north.

The organisation earned $2,000 after local member for Jagajaga, Kate Thwaites MP, was snapped amongst the tomes at the Eltham District Historical Society’s Local History Centre.

This round of Poli-Pix also saw two highly commended entries, who received $500 each: the Manning Valley Cycle Club and Point Nepean Men’s Sheds.
