In this month’s episode of Smarter Impact, Philip Bateman talks to Dr Catherine Brown OAM about the opportunity to change ideas into reality and make a difference.
Dr Catherine Brown OAM is the CEO of Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation. She was also a member of the Social Impact Investment Taskforce advising the prime minister in 2019-2020 and is deputy chair of the Australian Environmental Grantmakers Network.
In this interview, she talks about de-risking things for government, the challenges in helping people make the leap from granting to impact investing, and why you need a strong back office if you’re going to trampoline into innovation.
She also touches on some of the amazing things happening in Australia, the great people tackling the tough stuff and why philanthropy is for everyone.
