Aussies are also encouraged to share photos wearing the charity’s digital red nose filters on social media
After being swamped with requests from locked-down Victorians for a Red Nose Day face mask, the charity has announced limited edition masks are now available.
The cotton face mask has a three-layer reusable design and features the charity’s iconic red nose.
It will allow Australians to show their support while out walking or on their trips to the shops in the lead up to Red Nose Day on 14 August.
All funds from the masks – believed to be the first charity face mask in Australia – go towards stopping the alarming rate of 3,000 Australian babies dying unexpectedly each year, and towards services for grief-stricken families who lose a baby.
Keren Ludski, CEO of Red Nose Australia, said the masks offered Australians in lockdown another way to get involved this Red Nose Day.
“COVID-19 has presented all of us with many challenges, but just imagine what it’s been like for the thousands of Australian families who have lost a baby during this time?” Ludski said.
“Red Nose is there, providing much-needed virtual grief support around the clock thanks to the generosity of Australians who dig deep each Red Nose Day.”
Australians are also being encouraged to share photos wearing the charity’s digital red nose filters on Facebook and Instagram.
Those who make a donation and submit their photo have the chance to become one of the Faces of Red Nose Day – and be featured in the charity’s billboard and online ads from now until 14 August.
Those looking to buy one of the initial run of 250 Red Nose Day face masks can do so here.
