Taking the pulse of the sector

Researchers are hoping to uncover the stressors, impacts of policy changes and challenges that social change organisations face

Australia has never kept track of the state of the for-purpose sector over time on a national level. It’s something a new research project is hoping to change.

On Monday, the Centre for Social Impact (CSI) opened a national survey, which aims to provide key information on the state of the charity, not-for-profit and for-purpose sectors.

The online survey, which takes 30 to 40 minutes to complete, is open to CEOs, presidents and senior executives of social change organisations. It seeks to gauge their views on the impact of recent events in Australia, policy or stimulus developments, changes in operating environment, and their organisation’s response.

The survey will be undertaken by independent researchers at the CSI University of New South Wales, Swinburne University of Technology and the University of Western Australia.

Researchers are aiming to run the survey every six months to track changes in the sector, with the results compiled in a report to support ongoing advocacy for a stronger and more collaborative social sector.

A link for the survey and more information can be found here.
