CCI Giving Small Grants Program Open

Grants of up to $10,000 are on offer for small community organisations working with disadvantaged and marginalised groups, as part of the new CCI Giving small grants program.
CCI Giving is a charitable foundation from Catholic Church Insurance (CCI), which aims to help Catholic organisations and those carrying out the Catholic mission in Australia to make a positive impact.
Their small grants program offers charities up to $5,000 to support events or projects, and up to $10,000 to support small capital works initiatives with a clear community benefit, with grants capped at $150,000 annually.
It is focused on supporting smaller community organisations and social enterprises, particularly those working with either young people experiencing educational disadvantage; refugees and people seeking asylum; families affected by mental illness; or those affected by domestic violence.
Only charities registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission which hold DGR Item 1 status are eligible to apply for a grant.
Applicants must also “be carrying out activities consistent with Catholic teaching in Australia”.
CCI Giving said they wanted to focus on “the gaps in current social welfare areas, to help the most marginalised in society and to make a positive impact in the Australian community”.

Scenna added that CCI Giving would look to make a difference to those who needed it most.
“A growing number of organisations and causes are going unfunded each year, while other charities are at funding capacity. I’m a firm believer that what you say has no credibility unless it’s backed up by your actions and behaviour – that’s why CCI Giving focuses on gaps in current social welfare areas,” he said.
“CCI Giving is our way of formalising over 100 years of support for the Catholic community. We’re giving back to those overcoming challenges and adversity, and especially those who need us the most.

Applications for the first-round of grants are now open, and will close on 23 March, with funding announcements scheduled for mid-April.
