Launch of the Discretionary Grants Program

Trustee company, Australian Executor Trustees (AET) has launched its discretionary grants program for 2017/18 offering up to $600,000 to eligible charitable organisations before 30 June 2017.
The AET Discretionary Grants Program brings together funds from 13 charitable trusts.
The aim of the program is to invest in South Australian based not-for-profit organisations (or those delivering programs in South Australia) that are building organisational capacity and effectiveness.
AET said funding would be provided to eligible not-for-profit organisations that demonstrate leadership through adapting their organisation and revenue models, developing capability in their staff, volunteers or partners through professional learning opportunities, and developing new and innovative programs.
The AET Discretionary Grants Program has two underlying programs:
- The AET Learning for Impact Program which supports organisations that recognise and value the role talented staff play in delivering outcomes for their organisation and the communities they serve.
- The AET Small to Medium Investment Program which aims to provide untied investment for South Australian based organisations that are considered small to medium in size (approximately $5 million or less in annual turnover).
The program forms part of the nearly $6 million AET will distribute to Australian charities in 2017 as manager of over 100 charitable trusts.
AET head of philanthropy Ben Clark said: “We are pleased to launch this year’s program and are excited by the opportunities this will provide through building organisational capacity in not-for-profit organisations.
“This year’s program demonstrates our continued commitment to funding South Australian programs and recognises the needs and critical role of small-to-medium not-for-profit organisations.”
The funding round for the program opened 27 February and will close 1 May 2017. Successful applicants will be notified by 30 May 2017 with funding agreements expected to be finalised before 30 June 2017.
