Youth Justice Community Partnership Funding

Tenders for Youth Justice Community Partnership funding are being progressively released over October 2016 by the Department of Justice and Attorney-General.

The department is refocusing funding to address the changing needs of young people in the youth justice system and will purchase new services from non-government organisations in locations of high demand.

These organisations will work in partnership with Youth Justice to support young people in the youth justice system and their families, and reduce offending and improve other life outcomes. 

An important focus will be on delivering culturally appropriate and responsive services that help to address the overrepresentation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.

All services must have a robust evidence base, successfully address the needs of young people, be culturally responsive to the target group and complement the delivery of statutory youth justice and other human services.

Information sessions in these areas will outline the desired services and the tender process:

• Cherbourg
• Doomadgee
• Gold Coast
• Ipswich
• Logan
• Mornington Island
• Mt Isa
• Palm Island
• Townsville

Dates, times and venues of information sessions are listed on the department’s website and on QTenders.

Sessions will be approximately 1.5 hours long. You are not required to attend an information session to apply for the funding, as the presentation used during the session and any questions will be provided through the QTenders site.

Applying for the funding

Closing dates in December are listed on QTenders website.

Submissions must be lodged in QTenders by the closing date and time. To use QTenders, organisations must be registered. If you have not used QTenders before, please follow the guide on the QTenders website. If you are using QTenders for the first time, please register to receive nominations under the category Politics and Civic Affairs Services.  

If you are already registered to use QTenders, ensure you have a search profile set up under Manage My Subscriptions for tenders released under the Mega Category: Social Services.

Regional panels will evaluate submissions in early 2017. The new Community Partnership services are expected to commence in July 2017.
