Queensland Youth Justice Community Partnership Funding

Queensland’s Department of Justice and Attorney-General is developing new partnerships with non-government organisations to provide services that support young people in the youth justice system and their families, reduce offending and improve life outcomes.
The complexity of young people’s needs in the youth justice system in Queensland has increased over time, and the location of young offenders has changed.
The Queensland community is also facing a significant challenge in improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. For the Department of Justice and Attorney-General, reducing the over-representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people in the youth justice system is a major priority.
Youth Justice is reforming to improve community safety, tackle youth offending and improve outcomes for young people in the criminal justice system to help them change their lives for the better. Over the coming year, the department will be implementing new practices, new partnerships and new ways of working.
Part of this reform will be to commission new services to work in partnership with Youth Justice.
The Department of Justice and Attorney-General will partner with non-government organisations to provide services that support and change outcomes for young people in the youth justice system and their families. New community partnership services will have a robust evidence base, successfully address the needs of young people, be culturally responsive to the target group and complement the delivery of statutory youth justice and other human services.
Tenders for new services will be released between October and December 2016. To tender for this funding, organisations must be registered here with QTenders.
