About the role
- 12 months fixed term (potential to extend pending funding)
- 0.4 FTE
This is newly created role is an exciting opportunity to program manage the creation of a new initiative to support foundations interested in starting or currently undertaking, impact investing.
The successful candidate of this role will be a strong project manager who has an interest (but not necessarily an expertise) in impact investment.
The goal of the Foundation Group for Impact Investing (FGII) is to establish learning, best practice, and collegiate working to elevate the use of early-stage impact investment (also referred to as program related investments) to create positive societal and environmental change. All events and activities undertaken by the FGII have the intention to educate foundations, and where appropriate, other impact investors.
The FGII was initially formed by a group of foundations, with PA providing program management and secretariat support for the FGII Steering Group. The purpose and activities of FGII aligns with PA’s mission and DGR status of facilitating professional learning and development on philanthropy and impact investing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a project plan which aligns with short-term and long-term objectives of the program
- Ensure the program is to budget and time
- Identify and mitigate project risks, and escalate as required
- Manage the FGII membership lists and database
- Organise virtual meetings of the steering committee and broader group, ensuring agendas are created and minutes and actions are recorded
- Organise information days, in consultation with the Steering Committee
- Build a curated repository of relevant resources
- Develop and maintain relationships with relevant external stakeholders including Foundations, peak bodies, members and other collaborators
- Report on operational activities and performance to the Steering Committee, funders and other interested parties
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Excellent project management skills and experience in managing projects that consist of internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work independently, bringing in the right people at the right time
- Interest in and basic knowledge of impact investing
- Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining high-trust relationships with stakeholders who have diverse needs
- Exceptional communication skills – with the ability to host meetings and clear and concise written communication
- Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills to share resources and deliver effective messaging across both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to manage time and priorities as a part time employee
DESIRABLE
- Previous experience leading projects / programs in NFP, government or the philanthropic sector
- Experience in impact investing
