About the organisation
Water Stewardship Asia-Pacific (WSAP) was established in 2010 to lead the uptake and growth of water stewardship in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
With the increasing impact of climate change across the Asia Pacific region, WSAP is empowering the transition to sustainable water management that is socially and culturally equitable, environmentally sustainable and economically beneficial.
The organisation is led by a Board of Directors located across Australia and New Zealand, elected by members and supported by a CEO and small team.
About the role
The Role
Water Stewardship Asia-Pacific has ambitious plans and needs an experienced executive to work with the Board and management team to achieve these.
Your primary role is to lead, to grow the organisation in a sustainable manner, to enable real benefits to be delivered to members and communities throughout the region.
You will identify new revenue and service opportunities and ensure these are delivered to agreed objectives.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Work closely with the Board of Directors to evolve organisational strategy and its successful implementation.
- Drive revenue growth through the development and promotion of new products and services, including new verification programs, that diversify revenue and improve organisational capabilities.
- Reinforce a positive culture and ensure staff and projects are managed effectively.
- Develop and manage key stakeholder relationships, including increasing the number and diversity of water stewards.
- Be the public face and spokesperson for the organisation.
The Person:
- An Executive with a track record in leadership, change management and growing and an organisation to achieve agreed performance objectives.
- Qualifications or relevant experience related to water stewardship, water resource management, or environmental management, is desirable.
- A genuine interest in sustainable water management and stewardship, including potential opportunities and challenges facing the sector.
- Strong stakeholder management expertise, with relevant existing networks within water management, or an ability to quickly develop networks and business opportunities with a broad range of organisations throughout the region.
- Extensive experience in program/project management and service delivery to program partners.
- Ability to represent WSAP at local, national and international meetings and events and be the public spokesperson for the organisation.
